OUR STORY

As an innovative and creative designer/glassmaker my desire to work with glass and constantly experiment with new techniques is my passion. For more than 20 years, I have researched, developed and refined cameo carving techniques to combine my fascination with studio glassmaking, technology and graphic arts. I fuse graphic imagery – sometimes elaborate and figurative, with the molten fluidity of hot glass, to create both contemporary and classical art glass.

I design bespoke surface patterns and carve through many layers of enamel colours, 22ct gold & sterling silver leaf & create the 3D image by hand, using a combination of diamond point & fine sand carving techniques. By fusing detailed graphic imagery & ornamentation with the molton glass, its translucency, reflective qualities & its potential as a vehicle for luscious colour, constantly enthuse my passion to push the boundaries & create beautiful & innovatory works of art.

Together with my wife Alison and our small team of highly skilled Artisans, we  continue our progression of combining innovation and technology with ancient craftsmanship, which provokes an exciting combination. I carve imagery on both the inside & outside of the vessels & strive to capture a sense of atmosphere & narrative through surface & substrate decoration & in so doing, attempt to create some of the most technically advanced & aesthetically sublime, fine English cameo ever produced.
