Jonathan Harris; glassmaker, designer and cameo glass carver is based within the Coalport China museum located in the Ironbridge Gorge, a World Heritage Site, on the banks of the river Severn in Shropshire.

Ever conscious of the current climate, Jonathan has devised a process that will make his cameo accessible to all collectors, as he explains’ Along with our glassmaking team Katie, Darren and Jane, we have developed some fresh ideas for the studio ranges, including ‘Studio Cameo and ‘Clear Cased cameo.’ To achieve the effects we have fused our studio and cameo techniques together.

Jonathan & his wife Alison run their small family business designing and producing high quality decorative art glass, hand carved cameo and gräal. We create contemporary fine English Art Glass for collectors worldwide.

As an innovative and creative second-generation designer/glassmaker my desire to work with glass and constantly experiment with new techniques is our driving force. For more than 20 years I have researched, developed and refined a wide variety of techniques to combine my fascination with studio glassmaking, technology and graphic arts. Fusing graphic imagery – sometimes elaborate and figurative, with the molten fluidity of hot glass, to create both contemporary and classical works.

Introducing 'Dawn Chorus' as our exclusive 2008/09 Collectors Club piece. Intrinsic carved cameo, cased midnight blue over cranberry, intricately carved Wrens, butterfly and foliage adorn the internal surface of the bowl. “A tranquil place, still and silent caressed by a glistening dew. Nothing stirs but the flutter of tiny feathers and the heart felt song of the dawn chorus.”
